Unexpected

I don't know when it all happened. She was just a friend, she was meant to always be a friend and nothing more, but 'it' happened, started with small talks, 'ah I've never laughed so hard and good in all my life. You really can't judge a book by it's cover truly. When I met her she was all snotty, high and mighty looking then she said the craziest shit ever to me it literally shook me. "so you think you're smart huh? Making all these kickass drink feeling like a bartending Yoda. Pfft" she said.
I morphed from being shocked to amused after what seemed like 5heartbeats. I never expected her to talk to me, people rarely did. They just ordered their drinks and left thinking I was loco cause of how I looked with my edgy clothes and weird hair I guess. But I gotta tell ya she's way worse than I am. Well that was how we got talking, she sat across me from my mixing spot and boy did she talk my ears off in between downing shots of single malt whiskey till my shift ended, I couldn't get a word in that's if I wanted to cos she was fun t listen to. She further shocked me by telling my me I was to take her home seeing as she was way beyond plastered and I wasn't going to let her drive herself home right and that by home she meant my own place thus "giving us time to gist and shoot the breeze" her words exactly. Then she went on to give me her address and showing me shots of her apartment while slurring "just incase you think I'm homeless and looking for where to bunk for the night" gah! Like I'd ever believe that, from her looks you'd know she was very comfortable.
So I told nick the bar's manager to lock her car up in the garage out back for me and that we'll be over by noon to come get it. We got on my Ducati monster 696 or Yuri as i call her, then we rode over to mine. A soho like apartment in the low cost area of town. It's a simple place that suits me fine and reflects my personality. A three room in one open space kinda apartment, to the right when you walk in through the front is the kitchenette, bathroom by the corner after the kitchen area then the rest space is the living area with a floor to platform library at one end above the raised platform is an attic like space where my bed is at. A stereo set and throw pillows occupy the floor of the room with speakers tucked into hidden crevices around the room. My own haven. We get in and as I lock up after us I notice her from my periphery climb the ladders to the bed area funnily then she flings herself on my bed and poof she's out like a switch turned off, shaking my head I head off to take care of my night stuff and get ready for the sleep my body longs for. I find lhuna squished between two soft pillows fast asleep. Smoothing her furs down I go about brushing and putting on my night shirt, then I climb up to my bed through the other end, or more like the tiny edge left, cause she obviously landed on it haphazardly.
Waking up the next morning to a nudge, staring disoriented at shadows feeling down the bedside trying to find my glasses I always keep nearby after I take off my contacts at night. Wearing them and being able to focus I see her cradling lhuna and grinning down at me like a cat herself.
Obviously she was amongst the lucky few who barely had no hangovers. Seeing as she was all chirpy and chatty. After asking for a spare toothbrush, she went to the bathroom and came back to join me on the bed. We lay there talking and getting to know about ourselves. Who would have known people could talk for hours, it felt like I had known her forever and before we knew it, it was way past noon. Seeing as we had this instant connection we became friends. After taking her to her car at the bar we exchanged numbers and planned hang outs.
We started hanging out together often. She would come over to the bar where I worked almost every night. Or we would meet for lunch occasionally during working hours, we found out our work places weren't so far apart. The firm where she worked in and the clinic where I was a nurse at had just five blocks between them so we practically walked to each others most of the time.
On that fateful day, three months into our funny friendship, we were over at hers, a chic two bedroom apartment in a high class area of town. I told you she was rich didn't I?
Munching on nuts and watching a sit-com, laughing so hard we could hardly breathe. The second we turned to each other at the same instant with laughter brimming in our eyes about to burst forth, was the second it happened, there was a switch, air went static the mirth turned it an excitement of a different kind and before I could take in my next breath.....
